Who We Are
Jon Blumenfield
Jon is an educator, capacity-builder, and leader with a passion for youth empowerment and community-engaged education. He is a designer and project manager with international experience in high-pressure, low-resource settings.
Originally from Philadelphia, Jon graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and then served as a Field Team Leader in the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) completing education, environmental, and disaster recovery projects in California, Nevada, Arizona, Mississippi, and Louisiana. After teaching English as a Foreign Language in South Korea for five years Jon spent three years in Cambodia training teachers and serving as the school leader of an education center serving vulnerable families from local communities.
Jon returned to the US in 2015 and has worked with Colorado nonprofits and public schools specializing in youth development, educator professional development design and facilitation, mentorship and coaching of school leaders and teachers, competency based learning, independent reading implementation, user-centered design, and program management.
In 2019 Jon earned a Master’s degree in Equitable Education and Leadership from Regis University and in 2021 completed an Instructional Leadership in Service-Learning Certificate with the National Youth Leadership Council (NYLC).
